This event will be coupled an short 15 min lecture on healthy eating habits and excise and way to incorporate these health habits into there everyday lives. The Zumba class will be a 45 minute event.

The craze now known as Zumba fitness is said to have started as a mistake by Colombian trainer Alberto "Beto" Perez. One day in the mid-90s, Beto reportedly forgot to bring his regular aerobics-style music tape to the group exercise class he was leading. With no music and a class to teach, he raced back to his car and scrounged up a cassette tape of Latin dance music. As the lively beats of Meringue and Rumba rang out, Beto drew upon his experience dancing in Salsa clubs and choreographing for local artists. Soon he was leading his pupils through a fun series of dance steps—and Rumbacize was born. It was an instant hit, and quickly became the most popular class at his gym. In 1999, Beto brought Rumbacize with him when he moved to Miami. It immediately caught on there as well and, with the help of a pair of entrepreneurs, Beto rebranded his class and transformed it into the global franchise that is Zumba fitness today.

We feel here at Open Hearts Charities that Zumba?? is a tool that is under utilized and is a fun way of promoting excise and a healthy way of experiencing other cultures through music and dances that make America so great. Here in New York obesity is an issue that plagues our cross all walks of life, Open Hearts Charities hopes to help in the fight against the obesity epidemic.

This is a charity, awareness event.

in human history one of the greatest question ever ask was “what is the meaning of life”? It took almost three thousand years and three great minds over that expanse of time to reach an acceptable verdict, or at lease by my standards, an acceptable verdict!
Socrates, a pupil of Plato, the Greek philosopher, believed and taught that the meaning of life is in the attaining the highest form of knowledge, which is the idea (form) of the good, from which all good and just things derive utility and value.. we today call this Platonism.
Years later Aristotle, father of Aristotelianism, and apprentice of Plato writes “every skill and every inquiry, and similarly, every action and choice of action, is thought to have some good as its object. This is why the good has rightly been defined as the object of all endeavor........ everything is done with a goal and that goal is “good”” -Nicomachean Ethics 1.1-
Thousands of year later the professor Steven Hawking, one of the greatest minds of our own age, tackle this same defining question, saying,
1) “The brain is responsible not only for the reality we perceive but also for our emotion and meaning too.”
2) “Love and honor, right and wrong, are part of the universe we create in our minds just as a table, a plane, and a galaxy.”
3) “The meaning of life is what you choose it to be. It is not somewhere out there but right between our ears. This makes us lords of creation.”
At the end of the day I believe all three of them are correct. The combinations of knowledge(understand), goals(plan), and what we choose(will) are truly what defines us individually and as a species. This is one of many baseline beliefs in which we try here to incorporate into our every day acts and behaviors. It is good to see that we as an organization have found another group who practice similar believe and strive for excellence.
I guess what im trying to say without giving a lecture is Thank You, Thank you for understanding us, Thank you for helping us reach our goals, and thank you for strengthen our will by show us the strength of your choices. As we say here and it is our motto, “if you give a man a fish you feed him for a day, but if you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime.

From us here at Open Hearts Charities, know you are Appreciated and loved,
